OUR COMPANIES

Each company has its own story

Over 750 titles have been published by Aafaq. As a publishing house Aafaq has distinguished its work through the following principles:

1. Finding the highest quality content.

2. Maintaining a high standard of printing and production.

3. Providing professional marketing and distribution channels.

In a short period, Aafaq has become one of Kuwait’s most famous publisher’s, with prominent positions in important Arab and foreign book fairs, and regular coverage in newspapers, Arabic magazines and on social media.

In 2020 it relaunched its website to support sales of books to individuals wherever they are.

Aafaq is known as a publisher that appreciates its authors and gives them their full rights. This strong relationship between publisher and author is what makes many authors continue to publish their works with Aafaq after they achieve success.

Aafaq is keen on publishing books that are useful for Islamic and Arab thought and culture. It is also known for the boldness of the books it publishes, and it has taken upon itself to contribute to educating the Arab reader and the development of Arab Islamic thought.

Aafaq’s professional mission towards the Arab reader and others leads it to publish different opinions, and sometimes contradictory opinions, because the only condition is the seriousness of the proposition and the quality of the idea, no matter how different it is with another publications positions and opinions.

This is done to build bridges between contradictory ideas; to obtain a common ground based on understanding the other and promoting coexistence: a great necessity in the contemporary world where there is no place for intolerance of opinions.

Aafaq authors belong to different nationalities and disciplines and therefore there are diverse opinions and the books cover many topics: academic, Islamic, political, historical, literary and specialized works. In short, we have material for everybody.

The opening of Aafaq Bookstore in the State of Kuwait was a significant event in the local book market. By mixing modern ideas and high-class design, whilst preserving the book’s standing, it departed from the stereotypes with which the Arabic Bookstore was known.

Aafaq Bookstore, thanks to God, was able, within a short period of time, to play an important cultural role in the community. Plus, each store offers various cultural activities, from celebrating the book to discussing new and important ideas in seminars that keep pace with the events of the Arab world.

Since Aafaq Bookstores has gained recognition in the region, many Arab Gulf novelists are keen on arranging book signings in one of its branches.

As a natural result of this success, its number of stores has grown, with five branches in Kuwait.

In order to reach our dear readers everywhere, 2019 saw the first branch was opened outside Kuwait in the State of Qatar in The Mall of Qatar, Doha.

Aafaq distributes the publications of the most important publishers in the Arab and Western worlds. It has many distribution contracts, and guarantees the rights of all parties to ensure strong ongoing relationships. Through these close relationships, readers benefit by finding what they are looking for at the best price.

In a short time, Aafaq has become among the most prominent suppliers of government and private universities and schools, as well as government agencies that are interested in books and educational materials in the State of Kuwait.

Aafaq’s distribution is not confined to the State of Kuwait, but also includes the Arab Gulf space, where we have become suppliers of major retail stores such as Jarir Bookstore, Virgin Megastores, Carrefour and other civil sectors.

Aafaq Bookstore has a close relationship with many foreign and Arab publishers. It obtained distribution rights from many famous publishing houses, international brands, and technology companies, and this list continues to grow.

Education is an important pillar in the development of thoughtful and learned societies. Believing in this fact, Aafaq has used all departments of the company to serve education.

Aafaq has published and printed more than a hundred academic books, most of which are taught at Kuwait University and the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training. Its publications have also won the admiration of academics in the Arab Gulf countries and some of its publications have become courses of study in Gulf universities such as Qatar University, Qatar, Dammam University, KSA, Imam University, KSA, among others.

As for Aafaq Bookstores, a special section is devoted to educational materials, including textbooks, dictionaries, and audio-visual materials in each of its branches. Furthermore, a children's section in Aafaq Bookstores and Bookfairs has a large share of books and educational materials where parents can find books to engage their children and develop their talents.
